The Power of Positive Leadership for Teens is for teenagers, and those who know, love, or lead teenagers. It is a tool for both teenagers and the caring adults in their lives but is written particularly for today’s teenagers. It encourages students through their biggest struggles, equips students to lead themselves and their friends through those struggles, and invites students to live and lead with positivity.
Building on core tenets of Jon Gordon’s bestselling books The Power of Positive Leadership and The Power of a Positive Team, it examines the biggest issues students are facing today and the big questions every teenager asks. It includes interviews with students, teachers, coaches, and parents, and draws on Mackey’s 2Words curriculum and Gordon’s thought leadership. Each chapter has a “major issue” facing students that the content helps solve. This serves both the student and the caring adult. It is not the explicit focus of the chapter, but rather the “launch pad” from which the chapter begins. Like in The Power of Positive Leadership, each chapter will have short, standalone sections of content that, when combined, teach the WHAT, WHY, and HOW of the chapter’s title principle.
