Author Biography

Bruce K. Wylie is a field researcher whose extensive publication credits have earned him a ResearchGate composite RG score that exceeds 95% of the ResearchGate members. He earned his B.S. is in Range Management (1979) from the University of Montana while Masters in Range Management (1989) comes from New Mexico State University. He also earned a PhD at New Mexico State University(1991), with a minor in remote sensing. Between the years of 1979 and 1990, Wylie worked on rangeland research and remote sensing applications in Niger. This was followed by GIS mapping of nitrate leaching for the USDA Agricultural Research Service in Colorado (1991-1994). He held Research Associate and Visiting Scientist positions at Augustana College and USGS EROS Data Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota between the years of 1994 and 1996, where he mapped bison fire interactions. He later focused on land cover and carbon flux mapping for various contractors to the USGS EROS Data Center. Since 2009, he has been employed at EROS focusing on the mapping of permafrost, invasive species, and biomass. Adventures in the Bush: Africa to Alaska details his travels.
