Johnny peered out around the tree to see Billy and the fat man approaching with great purpose."Hey, Boss, that's the redheaded kid we saw earlier.""Hey kid! Hold on a minute!" exclaimed the fat man.Johnny, on his bike in a flash, and motoring as fast as he could, pulled a magnificent wheelie without even trying."Yippee!" cried Spike. The cool wind was rustling through his trailing mop of hair, but he was warm and cozy, tucked just inside Johnny's shirt.Johnny looked over his shoulder to see the fat man wave down a cab, get in and take off, leaving Billy befuddled and well behind."Hang on, Spike!"Johnny was pedaling at an incredible rate. His red hair flashing behind his head was not only a beautiful sight, but also a welcome beacon for the fat man and his cabbie."Come on, you simpleton! Put the pedal to the floor! I'll pay you double your rate. Just keep your eye on that kid!"
