Author Biography

Eavan Boland was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1944. She has published nine volumes of poetry. Her poems and essays have appeared in magazines such as The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly, Kenyon Review, and American Poetry Review. She has received many honors and awards, among them a Lannan Foundation Award in Poetry and an American Ireland Fund Literary Award. She is professor of English and director of the Creative Writing Program at Stanford University
