Summary

In 1872, eight-year-old Charlie Pierce arrived with his Mama and Papa in the frontier jungles of South Florida. The Atlantic coast of Florida was a wild place, populated by Seminole Indians, alligators, shipwrecks and a few hardy pioneer families. Charlliel's adventures began right away. In this account, based on actual diaries, he explores old battlefields, learns to hunt and boat like a Seminole, faces down hurricanes, and makes an incredible discovery in the sand.

Author Biography

Harvey E. Oyer III is the great-great-grandson of Captain Hannibal Dillingham Pierce and the great-grandnephew of Charlie Pierce. Many of the stories contained in this book have been passed down through five generations in his family.
