The Grand Canyon State celebrates all four seasons and it's always a feast for the eyes. In this book, we have the photographs to prove it! Author Susan Lamb has written a sensitive, authoritative text describing the state's surprisingly wide-ranging seasons across three key geographical regions: the Low Deserts, the Central Highlands, and the Plateau. She also presents an interesting overview of how the seasons and the geography pair up to sustain the flora and fauna that make a trek through the outback unlike that in other parts of the world.

Author Biography

Susan Lamb came to Northern Arizona in 1983 to serve as the Desert View District ranger-naturalist at Grand Canyon National Park. While at Grand Canyon, Lamb was asked to write a book of essays about several other national parks. That led to a new life as a writer and more than two dozen books about nature, history, and native people of the past and present. Lamb lives in a house in the woods at the edge of Flagstaff with her husband, photographer Tom Bean, where they are chronicling the flowers of the forest throughout the seasons for a long-term book project.
