The setting is the British Isles years after the fabled King Athur and Camelot are long past, Philip is send on a quest for king Arthur. His horse Richard will be his defender, protector throught out the majority of their quest.

Philip finds himself banned from towns and villages due to a 'situation' involving black power.
"When Richard, being bold, galloped right into their lines, I held on for the ride. He upset their horses and foot soldiers." Unable to get the people to fight the invaders Philip comes up with a plan. Richard doesn't think it's good plan! This is where their quest begins with a visit to the fabled, 'Camelot' where they will encounter the spirit of King Arthur.

"A young man, a servant to the innkeeper, came forward and said, "My Lord, is that the sword of King Arthur? Is it Excalibur?" I looked at it, brought it down and examined it carefully in the light. It was not the sword that I had carried."
