Summary

In this gorgeously illustrated, engagingly written and all-inclusive look at paper and its extraordinary versatility as a creative medium, pre-eminent origami artist and paper engineer Paul Jackson offers both practical instruction and inspiration for anyone interested in papercraft. In the first section, "Techniques," Jackson offers a step-by-step guide to the fundamental techniques of the major paper arts; the second section, "Themes,"presents a gallery of outstanding paperworks. He discusses paper itself and papermaking, and showcases some of the most innovative work being done today by an international array of leading paper engineers and craftspeople. At the end of the book, readers will find a listing of useful addresses of papercraft organizations that publish newsletters, hold meetings or conventions and, in some cases, sell supplies.
