Some places in the world have a particular atmosphere, a sense of romance that artists respond to, which they call"good places to paint." Santa Fe, New Mexico, is one of these places. It is in the air itself, so clear and sharp in the high altitude that shapes and colors come through with startling intensity; brilliant primary colors of the daytime soften to pastels at twilight.
