Summary

Return to the classic Avengers Mansion with Steve Rogers and his new Avengers squad!

When vampires attacked, a ragtag group of Avengers changed the tide of battle. And in the aftermath, Captain America has formed the Avengers Emergency Response Squad! Steve’s handpicked team of veterans and newcomers live and train in Avengers Mansion — and when Captain America sounds the mission horn, whoever’s on base has seconds to pack up and deploy. When the Red Skull’s daughter discovers a dangerous artifact, Cap, Wasp, Photon and Shang-Chi set out to stop her — while Hawkeye hosts a poker game for the late arrivals. Will the AVENG.E.R.S. pass their first real test? And did someone say…jackets?

Author Biography

Steve Orlando made a name for himself at DC Comics, writing Wonder Woman, various Batman titles and Martian Manhunter. His Midnighter series and its sequel Midnighter and Apollo were nominated for a GLAAD Media Award. Orlando arrived at Marvel to celebrate a legendary character’s 50th anniversary across three Curse of the Man-Thing one-shots. Orlando contributed to Marvel’s Voices: Pride and returned to the intersection of super-heroics and horror with the Darkhold storyline.

Cory Smith is forging a reputation as a Marvel mainstay on high-profile books such as Avengers, Conan the Barbarian and Guardians of the Galaxy. After stints on titles Weapon H and Nova, as well as one-shots featuring the heroes of the Star Wars “Age of Republic,” Smith joined writer Benjamin Percy on a deliciously dark relaunch of Ghost Rider.
