Author Biography

Maggie Fischer is originally from Oregon but moved to San Diego, California, after receiving her B.A. in English from Gonzaga University. The daughter of a children’s librarian, Maggie has books in her blood and relishes the opportunity to write and edit books for kids. She spends her time forgetting to take advantage of the beach, pretending the neighbor’s cat is her own, and listening to true crime podcasts that keep her up at night. 

Kara Kenna is an illustrator, designer, and internationally published writer. Her work has appeared in a variety of media, including books, magazines, computer games, and billboards. She graduated cum laude from USC with a BA in Fine Arts. Kara was the lead user-interface designer for the DAKIM Brain Fitness System that won a CES Innovation Award. She has also done work for Disney, Hasbro, Warner Brothers, and Sesame Street. Kara is known for her bright, whimsical style and is dedicated to working on products that promote education, creativity, and literacy.
