Summary

The Penguin claims Bane, the man who broke the Bat, is the one pulling the strings in Batman's life. But how could that be when Bane is safely locked away in Arkham Asylum--and a broken man himself? He's been in a padded room, in a nearly catatonic state, since his last encounter with the Bat.

Is Bane's incapacitation all a slow grift to get the upper hand? Or is the Penguin leading the Bat on a wild-goose chase? Regardless of the cost, Batman won't stop until he uncovers the truth.

The acclaimed team of Tom King (Heroes in Crisis, Mister Miracle) and Mikel Janín (Grayson) push the Dark Knight further than ever when Batman discovers that his brutal recent encounters with Mr. Freeze, KGBeast and more were all orchestrated by the same unseen Gotham mastermind.

Plus, the secrets of Alfred are revealed in an extra-length story from writer Tom Taylor (Injustice 2) and artist Otto Schmidt (Green Arrow) in Batman Volume 9: The Tyrant Wing, collecting Batman #58-60, Batman Annual #3 and Batman Secret Files #1.
