Author Biography

Derrick Wright's interest in the Second World War was stimulated by the many bombing raids on the Teesside area, in which he lived. After National Service with the Army, he became an engineer specialising in Ultrasonics until he retired in 1992. He is the author of Tarawa: A Hell of a Way to Die (Windrow and Greene, 1997). Married, with four daughters, he lives on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors.
