Summary

At the age of thirty, my calling to preach came to me in a dream, a strange man said, "Let God Be the Judge. Many will try to deceive you by telling you God did not call you to preach. You Let God Be The Judge. When I awoke from that dream, I could not believe it. I thought to myself, Is God calling me to preach? A shy county girl like me could not be a preacher. This recurring dream haunted me for three and a half years. It was as if I could not run from it. The stranger in my dreams told me to read John 22:17: Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father, and to my God, and your God. Jesus gave Mary Magdalene the task of spreading the good news. The good news of His Glorious resurrection and His ascending back to God. Mary thought she was there to visit Christ's tomb, but Jesus redirected her task and she became the first female evangelist.

Excerpts

GOD WILL DELIVER When I was a little girl, my Mother told me my Granddaddy always said, "God got a calling on her life. She's going to be something one day." My sisters and brothers played the usual children's games. However, I always wanted to play church. I always wanted to be the preacher. I recall playing church one day and we had a funeral. We took a doll and put it in a box. I preached the funeral and I used as a theme, "Jesus Wants Some Children in Heaven." At the age of ten, I was teaching Sunday school. I wanted to learn more and more about Jesus. [Matthew 19:13-14: Then were there brought unto Him little children that He should put His hands on them, and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. vs14. But Jesus said, "Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the Kingdom of heaven."] Christ is deeply concerned abut the salvation and the spiritual up-bringing of children. Christian parents should use every means of grace available to bring their children to Christ. He longs to receive them, love them, and bless them. At the age of nine, I received Christ as my Lord and Savior and God as my heavenly Father and was baptized. As a child, I wanted to get to know more about Jesus. I wanted to fellowship with Him. I wanted Him to lead me and walk with me. As a child, I did not understand so many things about Jesus. Therefore, I prayed for understanding. At the age of twelve, I formed a youth choir. I was president of the missionary and sang in the choir. Anything I could do in the church, I did it. I always walked in the light so other young women could see Jesus in me. I grew up in a loving family of four brothers and two sisters and I was the oldest. When they got sick, I always prayed for them. As a child, I heard a preacher preach a sermon about prayer and how prayer changes things. I heard my mother talk about "prayer is the way we talk to God. Pray with faith. God will do what you ask of Him." Then I wanted to know what faith was. My mother said when you pray; go on and thank God for it. You know it is fixed." [Hebrews 11:1: now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.]
