Author Biography

Dr Farid Esack has an international reputation as a Muslim scholar, speaker, and human rights activist. He has lectured widely on religion and Islamic studies across the world and also served as Commissioner for Gender Equality in the South African government. He has authored a number of books on Islam and is currently Professor in Islamic Studies at the University of Johannesburg.
