Author Biography

Eric H. Kessler, Ph.D., an expert in the field of management of innovation and technology, is a senior Professor of Management at Pace University in New York City and founding/current Director of their Business Honors Program. He is a Fellow and Past President of the Eastern Academy of Management, the northeastern United States association of business management scholars, where he designed and launched the EAM White Paper series to better apply management theory to business practice.

He has served on numerous editorial and advisory boards and as the guest editor for several of professional management journals, as well as with the United States National Security Education Program and Pentagon's Joint Civilian Orientation Conference. Dr. Kessler has published or presented over 100 scholarly papers in top academic outlets and conferences, won numerous research and teaching awards, and produced several critically-acclaimed books: The Handbook of Organizational and Managerial Wisdom (2007), Cultural Mythology and Global Leadership (2009 / 2010 paperback), and Applying Management Theory to Practice: Real-World Lessons for Walking the Talk (2010). He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and has been inducted into national and international honor societies in business, economics, forensics, and psychology. Professor Kessler instructs courses on the doctoral, masters, and bachelors levels and has worked as an executive educator, policy analyst, and business consultant for public and private organizations. He has engaged problem-driven consultancy team projects on organizations such as Ford, IBM, and Goldman Sachs. He has led numerous international field studies and his professional travels have taken him across six continents. Recently he was selected as the general editor for the Encyclopedia of Management Theory.
