This is a hard book, in the sense that it does not compromise in an way with non-Christian religions and considers them totally false and even dangerous. It even questions the accepted Evangelical overemphasis on God's love to the detriment of the full revelation of Scripture. Too say that God's love is unconditional is an error and clouds the many warnings found in the Bible that men are responsible for their actions and beliefs and will be held accountable for their wrong decisions. "I have set before you life and death...choose life that you may live" (Deut. 30:19).This is a book filled with hard arguments and warnings to take what the bible says very seriously--or else! Every argument against this is discussed in full with the support of many scriptures that are found in most pages of the book. Unlike most present day Christian books it contains no inspiration material, no how-to advice, no family values discussions, and no directions on how the reader can improve his/her Christian or life experience. Instead we have here a manual that literally conducts war against false gospels, beliefs, and practices in the church that the author feels leads to confusion, weakness, and the biblical illiteracy unfortunately found in many of our congregations. Timothy was called upon to "fight the good fight of faith" and not to conduct marriage seminars or preside over religious happy hours. The Bible, taken as it is written, is the most powerful book in existence, explaining the past, the present, and the path to the future that all of us will someday walk upon after our death. That path goes in two directions. According to the Bible only a few will be going in the right direction. Will you be one of them?
