Summary

Diana Grippo's Bipolar Chronicles: From Crazed to Content is a memoir about going crazy and coming out the other side. Diana Grippo deals with hallucinations, delusions, depression, and substance abuse. She gets better only to relapse, and this cycle continues for many years. She lives on the streets and goes in and out of hospitals.

Ultimately, Diana Grippo heals, using a spiritual practice which includes The Twelve Steps, music therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She becomes a high school teacher, a Founder and Executive Director, and ultimately works for Apple

Against all odds, she survives. She tells us how she does it and offers hope to those who suffer and insight to family members.

Moving, harrowing, and ultimately uplifting, Bipolar Chronicles: From Crazed to Content is a classic testimony to the ravages of mental illness and the power of perseverance and courage.

Author Biography

Diana Grippo works for Apple in sales. She was previously a high school teacher and the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of the Youth Outreach Media Mentor Program (YOMMP.) YOMMP shows students how to write, storyboard, direct, edit, shoot, and produce shorts, documentaries, and feature films. With mentors' help, students choose a cause they are passionate about, and after the production wraps, they must create action and activism plans which further their cause.

Diana has suffered from bipolar disorder for 34 years, and was depressed from a young age. She has learned to cope with her illness by adopting a spiritual practice, using music therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, along with medication. She offers hope to those who are suffering and insight to family members.

Diana graduated from UCLA with a degree in Economics and lives with her cat, Lucky, in Mountain View, CA.
