Author Biography

Bob Harris, known affectionately as "Whispering Bob" due to his softly spoken voice, has worked in broadcasting since the 1970s, when he was the face of the live music show Old Grey Whistle Test. He cofounded Time Out magazine and has written books, newspaper articles, and magazine columns, produced records, and worked with some of the biggest names in music. Along with Lyle Lovett, Nanci Griffith, and Old Crow Medicine Show, he is one of only four recipients to be honored with the Americana Music Association's Americana Trailblazer Award. He is a frequent visitor to Nashville, and well-known there.
