Vivian Folkenflik is Lecturer in the Humanities at the Univeristy of California, Irvine. Robert Darnton is Carl H. Pforzheimer University Professor and Director of the Harvard University Library and the author of The Devil in the Holy Water, also available from the University of Pennsylvania Press.
