Summary

William Wild Bill Guarnere and Edward Babe Heffron were among the U.S. Army's first paratroopers members of the 101st Airborne Division in an elite unit called Easy Company. Arguably the bravest, most physically fit, and most tight-knit group of soldiers the Army has ever produced, the unit was called upon for every high-risk operation of the war, including D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. Author Biography

William Wild Bill Guarnere and Edward Babe Heffron enlisted in the U.S. Army when they were eighteen years old. Both men were portrayed in the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers, produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. They live in South Philadelphia. Robyn Post has been a professional journalist for thirteen years and profiled the two men for Philadelphia Magazine.
