Summary

Call to Serve builds upon the long history of educating veterans and updates the knowledge base and brings currency to what have been more traditional institutional efforts and responses to meet veterans' needs. Examples include current patterns of multiple deployments and returns and the accompanying stop-out and re-enrollment periods for student veterans. Costs for students have risen, as have military educational benefit provisions and institutional incentives. Additionally, current administrators and faculty members likely have very little memory of serving growing numbers of veterans enrolling or re-enrolling in colleges and universities. This resource contains updated information and perspectives regarding meeting needs of current student veterans.
