Author Biography

Be Careful What You Wish For is Cheryl Faye's fifth published novel. Her previous titles, At First Sight, A Time For Us, and its sequel, A Test Of Time, and First Love, as well as the short story, "Second Chance At Love," from the Arabesque collection Mama Dear have been well received by readers of modern romance as indicated by numerous Amazon.com reviews, letters and emails she has received. A self-described romantic, she has been writing poems, essays, and tales of love and romance since her early teens and admits to living vicariously through her characters. Currently residing in Jersey City, New Jersey, she is the proud mother of two sons, Michael and Douglas; grandmother of Mikayla; and an active member of the renowned Abyssinian Baptist Church in her hometown of Harlem, New York. Cheryl is also a legal secretary at one of the largest law firms in the country. Although she has been putting pen to paper and developing fiction stories for over thirty years, Cheryl's first attempt at writing a full-length novel was spurred by a wager in 1987. Accepting that challenge (and winning the bet), she has embraced the art of storytelling, viewing each of her novels as one of her children. She has developed a loyal following by creating realistic tales about relationships between progressive African-American men and women, with protagonists who struggle to grow and maintain life-affirming bonds by opening their hearts and minds to one another's shortcomings and realizing that any relationship worth its salt takes time, patience, understanding, and dedication.
