Author Biography

Karin Cadwell, PhD, RN, IBCLC, is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker, researcher, and educator. She convened Baby-Friendly USA, implementing the WHO/UNICEF Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative in the US, and is a delegate to the US Breastfeeding Committee. She is an adjunct professor at the Union Institute and University and was awarded the designation IBCLC in 1985 for significant contribution to the field Cythia Turner-Maffei, MA, IBCLC, is the national coordinator of Baby-Friendly USA, a faculty member of the Healthy Children Project, Inc., and adjunct faculty of the Union Institute and University. She has extensive experience in public health programs and community lactation practice, and is active in many breastfeeding coalitions, including the US Breastfeeding Committee
