Summary

There has been considerable progress and evolution in this field and this third edition of Catheter Ablation of Cardiac Arrhythmias has been updated to ensure that it remains a contemporary and fresh source of information for practitioners. It focuses on the primary topics of broad interest and omits material of a largely historical interest, or information of a highly specialized or idiosyncratic nature. Authored by recognized leaders in the field, there is consistency of content and style between chapters. Each chapter begins with a discussion of relevant anatomy and anatomic issues related to ablation of the particular arrhythmia under discussion. These remarks are then tied in to the opening chapter on anatomic considerations by Dr Sy Ho, a leading and widely published pathologist in the field of cardiac arrhythmias. All chapters also feature the author's personal approach to ablation of the arrhythmia, including practical how-to tips and a review of potential pitfalls.
