Summary

Cellular Technologies covers currently deployed GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks followed by UMTS networks in many countries globally before moving on to LTE & HSPA (including I-HSPA). It also examines the CDMA including details about the Chinese standards and looks at IMS/Convergence that is increasingly popular all over the world. UMA, which is deployed mostly in North America will be discussed as well as DVB which is gaining immense Worldwide popularity, especially in South Asia. Each chapter systematically looks at a different technology and is structured into three parts. The technology is examined at an overview level, first explaining what the technology is and then examining what the technical features of the technology are. The chapter concludes by looking at the planning/implementation aspects of the technology. A comprehensive overview of the major aspects of the emerging cellular technologies Useful for all professionals working in the cellular industry, not just designer and planning engineers Looks into technologies in use today and also technologies of the future, alongside the design and implementation perspective Introduces a number of diverse and fundamental technologies such as LTE, WiMAX, OFDM, MIMO and UMTS all in one concise bookCellular Technologies targets all cellular industry professionals and gives them an overview of the currently deployed technologies in mass scale and the forthcoming technologies that are expected to make an impact in the future, such as 4 th Generation Cellular Networks. This is one of the first books on the market to encompass
