Summary

We are not facing a global shortage of personal excuses. Nor is there any immediate threat to the large number of white lies told in our society. Sidestepping and finger-pointing are running rampant. Though these cultural waves have surrounded us on all sides, they need not topple us over.

Author Biography

CHARLES DYER (B.A., Washington Bible College; Th.M. and Ph.D., Dallas Theological Seminary) joined the administration of Moody Bible Institute as provost in July 2000. Before coming to Moody, Charlie served for 20 years in multiple administrative and faculty roles at Dallas Theological Seminary—ultimately serving as Executive Vice President under Chuck Swindoll.

In addition to his administrative skills, Charlie is an Old Testament scholar and an authority on Middle Eastern history and geography. A licensed tour guide to Israel, he has traveled extensively throughout the Middle East over the past 25 years, leading more than 70 different trips.

Charlie is the author of numerous books, including A Voice in the Wilderness, What’s Next?, and The Rise of Babylon. He co-authored Strike the Dragon with Mark Tobey.

Charlie and his wife, Kathy, have been married for more 33 years and have two grown children.
