For the first time, a complete chronological history of C&O's activities in this important terminal are treated, along with the buildings and facilities that were used here. Of all C&O terminals, Hinton is one of the most interesting, being a veritable citadel of mountain railroading, yet it seldom has been treated in articles, and the photographic record is very slim.
