Summary

Chicana Feminist Thoughtrecovers the historical contributions of a generation of Chicana feminists whose activism forged a collective struggle to overcome the gender contradictions, tensions, and conflicts within the Chicano Movement. Any historical analysis of the Chicano Movement, the Women's Movement and any other social protest movement of the 1960s is incomplete without a systematic integration of the Chicana feminist movement and its ideological foundations. Organized thematically and chronologically, these collected works of Chicana feminists explore such topics as sexual politics within the Chicano cultural nationalist movement, the multiple sources of Chicana oppression, organizational strategies and agendas, and the relationship between Chicana feminists and white feminists.
