Summary

This series is based on the expert research of the Institute of World Economy and Politics (IWEP), a think tank in China and part of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences based in Beijing. Their studies provide in-depth analyses into various aspects of Chinese economics and politics. Each volume in the series features material culled from the bimonthly China and World Economy, an IWEP journal, as well as original research findings of IWEP experts. This volume looks at the rate of and potential for growth of China's GDP, the possibility of a financial crisis in China, and developments and trends in Chinese consumer finance. Also featured are practical and theoretical considerations of the Chinese money market, an analysis of trends in China's economic growth, and a discussion on which country or region will benefit from China's growth. Finally, the book also discusses foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Chinese automotive industry and deciding factors of rural poverty in China.
