Summary

This handbook serves as a supplment to the book of children's fiction by the same author entitled, The Chronicles of Pleasant Grove. As the novel is designed for 9 to 12 year olds, however, is written to challenge the young reader with more advanced vocabulary than they may be used to, the author has designed this book to aid in their better understanding of the text. The Glossary contains only those words found in the novel it supports which would pose a problem for the young reader. Author Biography

Author A.M. Johnston-Brown (known to her friends as ôAnneö) is a graduate from Cal State, San Bernardino, with her B.A. in Theatre Arts. She is a member of the Actor's Equity union and has worked as a professional musical theatre actor for the past decade, accumulating a host of performance credits. She most recently appeared on the Kodak Theatre stage as the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat along side Eric Martsolf ("Passions") and Brad Maul ("Days of Our Lives"). She was a top-10 finalist at the ACTF Irene Ryan Competition in 1998 and has since won eight Inland Empire Theatre League Outstanding Actress Awards. In addition to working as a professional actor, Anne is an accomplished photographer (AJB Photography), specializing in theatrical and commercial headshots for the entertainment industry. In addition to her current children's book, The Chronicles of Pleasant Grove, she has also enjoyed success with her previously published book, The Ten Commandments of Theatre, an actor's handbook (sold in Samuel French and Barnes & Noble Bookstores on both coasts). Anne is currently a proud member of the renowned Moho's, a comedy troupe founded and directed by comedian Fred Willard and his wife, Mary. She is a resident of San Bernardino and is married to her husband, Tom, of 17 years.
