Author Biography


Lang Qin is Research Associate Engineer in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at The Ohio State University. Qin's current research focuses on design and mechanism study of microscale and nanoscale materials in chemical looping energy conversion and utilization. She is the Guest Editor of Processes and Associate Editor of Progress in Petrochemical Science. In addition, she has authored 30 peer-reviewed articles, one book, and one patent. Qin is a recipient of the American Institute of Chemist award (2019) and OSU Outstanding Award for Research Excellence (2015 and 2018). Qin is also a Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting alumni.

Liang-Shih Fan is Distinguished University Professor and C. John Easton Professor in Engineering at The Ohio State University.His research fields are in particle technology and chemical reaction engineering. He is an inventor of eight clean fossil energy conversion processes for CO2, SO2, and NOx emission control and electricity, syngas, hydrogen, chemicals or liquid fuels production. He is also an inventor of the commercial electrical capacitance volume tomography for three-dimensional multiphase flow and structure material imaging. Fan is the Editor-in-Chief of Powder Technology. He has received a number of honors including the ACS E. V. Murphree Award. He is a member of the U. S. National Academy of Engineering, Academician of the Academia Sinica, and a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Australia Academy of Technology and Engineering, the Indian National Academy of Engineering, and the Mexican Academy of Sciences.
