Summary

This book will tell the story of Cleopatra, from their early days in Manchester, England, to their conquest of the British pop charts and -- soon -- American airwaves. Cleopatra consists of the three Higgins sisters, 17-year-old Zainam, 14-year-old Yonah, and 16-year-old Cleopatra, who writes all the group's songs. After winning a talent contest and building a reputation in their hometown, Cleopatra performed an a cappella audition for Warner Brothers UK in 1997. They were offered a record contract on the spot. Since then, Cleopatra has been called the group to watch in 1998 by almost every major U.K. publication and compared favorably to pop sensations such as The Jackson Five and Hanson. Madonna's label, Maverick Records, recently released their debut album, Comin' Atcha, in the U.S. Their track, "Cleopatra's Theme", is a hit on MTV, and the sisters recently performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
