Author Biography

Nina Laden is the author and illustrator of Walker & Company’s Bad Dog, which School Library Journal praised as “a book that has a flavor all its own. The illustrations are equally funny, capturing all of the canine antics.” Nina lives in Seattle, Washington, with her husband and three stepsons.

    Somewhere hot?

How do they get there?

Along the way,

Where do they stay?

In a fancy hotel

Or a bad one that smells?

Do they pay lots of rent

Or sleep in a tent?

    Do clowns like the beach?

    Or do clowns like a pool?

    Are they afraid of sharks?

    Is the water too cool?

Do they play in the sand

Or read in the shade?

Can clowns get a tan

And drink lemonade?

When clowns get hungry,

What do they eat?

    Something juicy?

    Something sweet?

What's a clown's favorite treat?

If they get tired of the sun

And want to have fun

Do they take in the sights

    And scale the heights?

What if clowns get lost

Or miss a connection,
