Author Biography

Gordon C. Rhea is the author of The Battle of the Wilderness, May 5-6, 1864; The Battles for Spotsylvania Court House and the Road to Yellow Tavern, May 7-12, 1864; and To the North Anna River: Grant and Lee, May 13-25, 1864, winner of the Fletcher Pratt Literary Award. He received his master's degree in history from Harvard University and his juris doctorate from Stanford University Law School. A frequent lecturer throughout the country on military history and a practicing attorney, he has appeared on cable television's History, A and E, and Discovery networks and has written scores of articles for scholarly and popular publications. He lives in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, and in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, with his wife and two sons.
