Author Biography

WALLACE STEGNER (1909-û1993) was born in Iowa and moved extensively with his family as a young man. He attended the University of Utah, where he became a teacher before becoming the director of the writing program at Stanford. An ardent environmentalist, Stegner is known as the champion of the American West, its beauty and native spirituality.

Lynn Stegner is the author of two novels, Undertow and Fata Morgana both nominated for the National Book Award.
