Author Biography

After writing a guidebook about their hometown islands of Sanibel and Captiva, Florida, Julie and Mike Neal decided to spend a year and write one about Walt Disney World. Five years later they finished, only to learn they need to return weekly to keep things up to date. As a result, they've visited Disney World over 800 times. The couple and their books have been featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune and Miami Herald newspapers and American Heritage Magazine. They have also appeared on National Public Radio, the Travel Channel and many Florida television stations. Back on the islands, Julie coaches both a rec and middle-school soccer team, and is famous for her cooler full of ice pops. Mike is known for never getting around to putting his boat in the water. When not at Disney riding Big Thunder Mountain, their teenage daughter, Micaela, loves to boogie-board and fish at the beach. The family lives with their chocolate lab, Bear.
