Author Biography


John Bowker, Fellow of Gresham College, London, and Adjunct Professor at North Carolina State University (formerly Professor of Religion at the University of Lancaster, Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, and Adjunct Professor at the University of Pennsylvania), is a highly-regarded authority on religious studies and a well-known broadcaster on BBC Radio and the World Service. His many books on the subject include Is God a Virus?, Genes, Culture and Religion, Problems of Suffering in Religions of the World, What Muslims Believe, The Meanings of Death (Harper Collins Religious Book Award, 1993), World Religions and The Complete Bible Handbook (Benjamin Franklin Award, 1999).
