Author Biography

Ken Daniels, OD 

Dr. Ken Daniels has been a clinical investigator for many of the manufacturers of contact lenses, medical devices, and ophthalmic pharmaceuticals. After graduating from the New England College of Optometry in 1987, Dr. Daniels joined Morrison Associates in Harrisburg, PA. He then joined Allergan-American Hydron Contact Lens Division in 1990 as the Manager of Clinical Development, and also spend time collaborating on research projects at the Cornea and Contact Lens Research Unit (CCLRU) at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Dr. Daniels served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the SUNY College of Optometry on his return from Australia. He is presently an Assistant Clinical Professor: Director of Contact Lens Research, and an NEI investigator for Collaborative Longitudinal Evaluation of Keratoconus (CLEK) at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO). He is also in private practice in Hopewell, NJ.  

Dr. Daniels serves as the optometric editor of The Basic Bookshelf for Eyecare Professionals. He was a columnist for Primary Care Optometry News and presently serves as a consulting editor for Optometry Today.  

Additionally, he serves the profession as the Educational Chair for Symposium 1999 and the Institutional Affairs Committee Chair for the American optometric Association: Contact Lens Section. Dr. Daniels is a frequent lecturer at various optometric and ophthalmologic meetings on the topics of contact lens, refractive surgery, corneal topography, and anterior segment disease.
