Author Biography

Professor Wilfrido (Will) H.Corral has taught at Stanford University, the University of Massachuessets and Amherst College. A recipient of two Fulbrights, his past publications include Theory's Empire (2005), which received 17 international reviews, and Bolaño traducido: nueva literatura mundial (2011), Cartografía occidental de la novela hispanoamericana (2010), and El error del acierto (2006, second edition, 2012). He is the editor of the multi-volume Los novelistas como críticos (1991).

Nicholas Birns is Associate Teaching Professor at Eugene Lang College, the New School, New York, USA, where he concentrates in general humanities, fiction in English from 1700 as well as literary theory. His books include Understanding Anthony Powell (2004), the co-edited Companion To Australian Fiction since 1900 (2007). The latter was named a CHOICE Outstanding Academic Title for 2008. He is also the author of Theory After Theory (2010), Willa Cather: Critical Insights (2011) and Vargas Llosa and Latin American Politics, co-ed. Juan E. de Castro. He has published essays and reviews in The New York Times Book Review, the Australian Literary Review, the Australian Book Review, Arizona Quarterly, and Exemplaria; Studies in Romanticism, Symbiosis, College Literature, and European Romantic Review.

Juan E. De Castro is an Associate Professor in Literary Studies at Eugene Lang College, The New School for Liberal Studies, New York, USA, where he teaches courses in Latin American, Latino, Peninsular, and Inter-American literatures. He has also taught at The Colorado School of Mines, The California Institute of Technology, and the University of Southern California. A frequent contributor to major journals in his fields, he is a well-known scholar in new interdisciplinary and comparative approaches to the study of Latin American literatures and cultures, as well as on Mario Vargas Llosa, about whom he has recently published Mario Vargas Llosa: Public Intellectual in Neoliberal Latin America.
