Author Biography

Karen Gibson is serving as the Executive Director of Curriculum and Staff Development for the Pasadena Independent School District (Pasadena, Texas). She has also worked as an Instructional Specialist in Language Arts and as an elementary teacher in Houston and Pasadena. She has presented many staff development sessions designed to help teachers assist their students in preparing for state-mandated tests. Ms. Gibson has also taught children's literature at the University of Houston. She serves on the Advisory Council of the National Children's Literacy Project
