Summary

In Darwin's Radio, the human race suddenly underwent a leap in evolution, as women began to give birth to a human "upgrade" -- called Homo sapiens novus. The political and medical turmoil pushed the world to the brink of disaster, as society desperately tried to prevent these births. But at least one miracle baby was born: Stella Nova, the daughter of scientists Kaye Lang and Mitch Rafelson.

Stella is healthy, beautiful, loving...and different. Like the others of her kind, she is a "high-bandwidth" human, able to overcome inadequacies that may have stunted the growth of human societies throughout history.

Now a decade has passed, and millions of new children have been born around the world. "Darwin's Children" is the story of Stella Nova and her fellow new humans, as they fight to survive in a world full of people who, threatened with what they view as the extinction of their own kind, will do anything to stop these special children from growing up...
