Author Biography

Herbert V. Guenther, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Far Eastern Studies at the University of Saskatchewan. He is the translator and author of many books and articles on Buddhist thought. Chogyam Trungpa (1939-1987)--meditation master, scholar, and artist--was founder and president of Vajradhatu, Naropa Institute, and Shambhala Training. His other books include Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism; Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior; and The Myth of Freedom, also in Shambhala Dragon Editions.
