Author Biography

Michael Lanza is an outdoor writer and photographer, and is a contributing editor to Backpacker magazine. He writes a monthly column and articles for AMC Outdoors magazine, and his work has appeared in National Geographic Adventure, Outside, Walking, and other publications. Lanza serves as president of the Boise Climbers Alliance and as southern Idaho's volunteer regional coordinator for The Access Fund. He and his family reside in Boise, Idaho
