Debra J Cohen, PhD, SHRM-SCP, is senior vice president of knowledge development at the Society for Human Resource Management. James N Kurtessis is the manager of validation research for the certification programs at the Society for Human Research Management. Kari R Strobel is the director for HR competencies at the Society for Human Resource Management. Prior to joining SHRM she worked at the Office of the Secretary of Defense where she was responsible for leading competency-based strategic human capital planning for the Department of Defense Total Force.
