Summary

Ambrose Habig and Anton Ignatz Habig arrived separately in America from the village of Rittersbach, Duchy of Baden, in the 1830s.

Traveling to a new land with a different language, culture, and customs, the families Americanize their surname from Habich to Habig. Explore through biographical sketches their accomplishments, those of their descendants, and how they lived the American dream.

This work is concerned with Joseph Habig and Theresa Hartlaub of Indianapolis, Indiana, their descendants, and their forefathers of Rittersbach, Duchy of Baden, Germany. The Hulsman and Lauck families are related by marriage and included in this book.
