Summary

I have always been intrigued by the fact that most of the ancient people including very famous philosophers, politicians, army generals and even kings and emperors never doubted or questioned the existence of the gods. Nowadays someone who admitted to believing in the gods would be considered stupid or absolutely crazy. If we consider personalities such as Socrates, Aristotle, Epicurus or Alexander the Great, to mention just a few, as they all believed in many gods, can they for this reason be classified as stupid or even crazy? Man, as the most intelligent creature on Earth has always been aware of an extraordinarily powerful being, creator of the world 'God'. This awareness has inseminated in Man's mind the religious feelings. If there is only one God, why have men believed in many gods? Weren't the gods only myth? Did the gods really exist? On Earth existed also other beings superior to humans. They claimed to own Heaven and Earth, and to have created Man, the gods. If there is only one God, why there are so many religions? Is the God in which we firmly believe only one of the many gods of the ancient past? Can it be proved that they really existed? Have the gods been confused with the real God, the 'Creator'? Could they have manipulated the genetic structure of mankind? How could that have happened? I want to find explanations that withstand intellectual scrutiny, and clarify many arguments created by such issues. I am presenting an alternative way, in an effort to avoid the errors of the past. Consider this book as a journey to the top of the highest mountain, at the end you will be astounded by the extraordinary view.

Excerpts

I have let myself get carried away by vices and by the undercurrent of harmful prejudicial ideas surrounding all of us. I cannot put myself forward as an example to others, but having experienced and understood the mistakes, I sincerely hope to be able to save others from making the same errors. Maybe if I had received a sound education, if I had lived among a less corrupt society, or if when I was young I had been made aware of the false principles followed by society, then I would have stood a better chance of living an accomplished life. The disadvantages I suffered, which are also being experienced by the vast majority of people in the world, are the reason I have written this book. I would like to arouse people's awareness of a different prospect of life, especially when they are still young, because men are like trees, easy to straighten up when young, almost impossible when old. People must be made aware of possible alternatives, and that there are better ways to obtain happiness by following different principles, rather than accepting as a sad reality: – everything is done for a profit and consequently for money, therefore money regulates every aspect of people's lives. With money one can obtain everything; without it one can obtain absolutely nothing... If we look at the universe, we can only see a tiny part of all that has been created, but from it emanates immense power and order and consequentially, intelligence. The quality of work usually reveals the essence of its creator, so if we want to discover the nature of this creator we call God, we may need to investigate the complexity of the elements used to create. This investigation can only be done effectively by using intelligence, a part of God's nature, which is implanted in every living creature of the planet Earth and most of all in Man. Basically the word 'God' should not be used to denote or describe a huge and Superior Being existing somewhere in the cosmos, exhibiting proclivities and tendencies, needs and desires, frustrations and emotions identical to those of humans; presumably has a temper or, at least, a determination to punish those who disobey. All those characteristics that are continually manifested by many scripts of the Bible, are rather more appropriate in describing the gods. With the word 'God' we should rather refer to the Source of Supreme Intelligence manifesting itself as the Pure Energy that we call Life itself... Luckily, and for a reason, human beings have been created with a natural instinct to think differently one from the other, so each one of them can easily choose the activity that suits him best, and can execute the various duties necessary in the community. Unfortunately, from the moment that the social classes and their self-rewarding principles were introduced, the human mind was invaded by logic that has totally disarranged nature. Everyone has set himself to do not what he would have been best at according to his natural abilities, but what gives him a better position in society... Work is not selected or created on the basis of need, but on the basis of the compensation that it offers to the individual. Maybe we should be more aware that what we really need is not so much the goods but the goodness that those will provide... The message that I am trying to convey is that in order to survive as human beings, we all need to be part of human society. This society is to be considered and treated as a human body. The well-being of a human body is determined by the good health of every single part of it. This means that any single part of it, whether large or small, internal or external, has to be kept in the same perfect healthy condition, because every single part is equally important for a completely balanced body. All the body's parts are coordinated in a manner that makes it perfectly functional. Every part performs the function for which it has been designed. They do not try to prevail over each other, even if the functions of some of them could perhaps be considered more essential. For example, consumed food nourishes every single part of the body, even the most insignificant areas. If that stops happening, decay will set in, and this could spread over the entire body bringing life to an end...That can only be achieved by enforcing the terms of equality. This leaves no room in society for different classes, or higher or lower personal status. Every profession or any job is meant to be for the benefit of society as whole ... Our life as human beings consists of that time, short or long, that we are allowed to live on Earth. It is essential that we are fulfilled during this time because even if we believe in a second life after death, of which we cannot be sure, this can only refer to the spirit and not to the human creature that we at present represent... Today we do not like to admit believing in different gods, but that is exactly what we are doing in our present world, where the whole Earth is still divided into many different nations, different religions, different cultures, different social classes and different societies and to cap it all, different languages... Man can never become immortal; he can never control everybody and everything else, and most of all, he can never be independent because in order to be able to survive, he has to rely on the elements surrounding him: presently other human beings. Dependency is natural and implies unity. Man can never achieve his dreams by going against nature. Instead of trying to follow the ideal of independence from each other, which evidently becomes unavoidable from the moment we are conceived, why don't we try to exploit reality, and adopt the opposite ideal consisting of collaboration and unity, for a change?...
