Author Biography

Steven Vagnini is a show-awareness producer for Walt Disney Imagineering, where he curates the stories behind the parks, resort hotels, and other experiences of the Walt Disney World Resort. He previously served on the staffs of the Walt Disney Archives, D23, and Disney Corporate Creative Resources after several years as a Walt Disney World cast member. He has produced a variety of special events, including for the Walt Disney World fortieth and EPCOT thirtieth and thirty-fifth anniversaries. He coauthored A Portrait of Walt Disney World: 50 Years of the Most Magical Place on Earth, plus has written for several Disney publications and collaborated with Disney Legend Dave Smith on the fourth and fifth editions of Disney A to Z: The Official Encyclopedia.

In addition to founding the Walt Disney Archives in 1970 and serving as chief archivist for more than forty years, Disney Legend Dave Smith (1940-2019) was a featured speaker at many Disney events. Beginning with the July 1983 issue of Disney Channel Magazine, Dave began answering Disney trivia questions from viewers of the Disney Channel. In the ensuing thirty years, his “Ask Dave” column has continued through multiple publications, including Disney Magazine, the online Disney Insider, the D23 website, and his question-and-answer books Disney Trivia from the Vault: Secrets Revealed and Questions Answered and Disney Fact Revealed: Answers to Fans’ Curious Questions. Dave also coauthored all volumes of The Ultimate Disney Trivia Book 1–4 and Disney: The First 100 Years (and its update.) He compiled The Quotable Walt Disney, as well as the five previous editions of Disney A to Z.
