His academic journey is equally varied, with degrees from Indiana University and Webster University and online courses from prestigious institutions such as Yale, Stanford, The University of Edinburgh, and The University of Copenhagen.

Outside of writing, Richard enjoys community theatre, showcasing his talent in plays, musicals, and with his guitar. A Hoosier native, he relishes life in Indiana alongside his extraordinary wife, cherishing their shared joy of three children and six grandchildren.
