Summary

How Did I Get This Fat employs the "opposites approach" to behavioral learning with a humorous, take-no-prisoners style of communication that can be more motivating than simple words of encouragement. Each chapter covers a habit, behavior, routine or quality that fat people exhibit, i.e. poor food choices, skipping breakfast, counting calories, going on diets, etc., and why they don't work. Knowing which habits keep weight on will help individuals know what "not" to do in order to lose weight. The author offers an overview of the fast food industry along with the fast manner of food consumption, and also examines the emotional reasons for overeating along with myths around losing weight.
